You don’t see many Mercedes A or B class cars around town do you? The slow selling models have been accused of being overpriced and under powered, which is why most buyers give them a pass. Now Mercedes is out to rectify this lacuna by boosting power in the next generation of the two models which are expected around 2011. The most powerful engine to be put in the A & B class cars is reported to be a 230 bhp (from the C class) instead of the current range topping 193 bhp unit and feature a regular front wheel drive setup. With this increased power Mercedes hopes to be in a position to compete effectively in the small car segment.
